On Saturday (21st Aug) we collected for the Pakistan Flood Appeal at the Oak Green parade in Four Marks. We displayed a Shelterbox tent and contents; similar to those sent to Pakistan to provide emergency shelter.
This fundraising is part of the effort by Rotary clubs across Great Britain and Ireland that are keeping up the fundraising effort for the Pakistan flood survivors. An estimated 20 million people have been affected by the floods which stretch south along the Indus river from the North West District to the Sindh province.
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the public, thousands of pounds have been donated to Water Survival Box (WSB), ShelterBox and Aquabox. The Four Marks collection raised the substantial sum of £360 and the club will contribute the further amount required to purchase a Shelterbox at £490.

A second consignment of 200 Water Survival Boxes left the UK on Saturday 14th August on a flight to Islamabad where Humanity First UK collected and distributed them. This speedy response by all the aid box organisations has given victims hope of surviving in the most difficult of conditions.
